How to Prepare for a Power Washing Appointment

You’re on our schedule, awesome!

But now what?

There are few simple steps you can take to prepare for your power washing appointment. In order for you to get the most out of your service and protect your home, be sure to take note of the following tips.

How to prepare for a power washing appointment:

1. Make sure all outdoor electrical outlets have proper covers and turn off your breakers.

Water and electricity don’t mix! If an outlet cover is damaged or missing, the internal wiring could be exposed to the water which could cause a fire or electrocution. Help us keep your home and our staff safe by repairing or replacing damaged and missing outlet covers.

2. Provide clear access to the hose bib.

We bring some water with us, but it is not enough to wash your entire home so we do supplement with your water source. Please make sure to remove anything that is blocking access to the hose bib.

This could mean:

  • Trash cans
  • Tools
  • Cars
  • Trailers
  • Anything else that could possibly be blocking access

3. Store anything that you don’t want to get wet.

This one might seem like common sense, but if something is out of view, we tend to forget about it. Take a stroll around the exterior of your home and collect anything important or sentimental that you’d prefer didn’t get wet.

This could include:

  • Children’s toys
  • American flags
  • Wreaths or planters
  • The family pet (Fluffy doesn’t want to get wet)
  • Outdoor furniture cushions and rugs

4. Double check that all windows are closed and locked.

Make sure your windows are sealed up tight. Some water may enter the home if a window isn’t locked and sealed properly.

Bonus tip: If you’re having your concrete cleaned, remove the outdoor furniture from the area.

Taking these simple steps will make sure your power washing appointment goes as smoothly as possible. Now, you’re all prepared! Sit back, relax, and let us make your home look as good as new!
